Project Overview
Bayanix undertook the refurbishment and structural repair of an existing cast iron fire escape stair at Middlesex House. Spanning six floors (Lower Ground Floor to Level 4), the project involved stripping, structural upgrades, and redecoration to restore the stairs to a safe and usable condition. Despite site constraints, Bayanix successfully delivered a compliant, durable solution within the planned programme.
This project highlights Bayanix’s ability to revitalise neglected structures while managing complex logistics in constrained environments.
Client Objectives
The client needed the fire escape stairs to be brought back to a compliant state, addressing years of neglect and ensuring safety for occupiers. All works were to be signed off by the structural engineer to guarantee the staircase’s long-term functionality.
